Michael “Tom” Schmidt, 39, of Earlville, IL passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at rural Earlville. He was born June 9, 1970 in Mendota, IL the son of Daniel Whittaker and Joan Schmidt. He attended Mendota Schools. Tom worked at Del Monte Foods, drove a truck and helped area farmers. He loved to fish, and his dog. Tom also enjoyed spending time with his many friends.
He is survived by his mother Joan (Norman) Peterson of Earlville, one brother Christopher Ryan of Grand Ridge, IL, his grandmother, Betty Schmidt of Mendota, IL, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandfather and a uncle.
According to the family’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service, but a gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date in June.
