Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home - Erlene Wilson, 80, of Sandwich formerly of Riverside, IL, passed away Sunday, January 03, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Sandwich. She was born January 29, 1929 in Dyersburg, TN, the daughter of Pled and Pearl (Littlejohn) Carroll. She married James A. Wilson in Chicago, IL. Erlene attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sandwich.

She is survived by one daughter, Brenda (Stephen) McKenney of Sandwich, IL; seven grandchildren, Shannon McKenney, Candice (Frank) Estrada, Christina Wilson, Charlotte Baker, Cathy Callins, Michael (Elaine) Baker and James M. Wilson; seven great grandchildren, and one brother, Ray (Lucille) Carroll of Naperville, IL.

Erlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Naoma Baker, one son, Dwight Wilson, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich with Rev. Barry Caudle officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Worth, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the funeral home. I am really going to miss Erlene. She was a lot of fun to be around. I am glad to have known her for the time that I have. We enjoyed her in our lunch ladies group, she always seemed to enjoy going with us . Erlene told some good stories from her childhood and her life with her family. Sweet memories.
